A weekend in the stockyards
A weekend in the stockyards
We’ve chosen to center our wedding weekend in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards—a place that holds all the energy, warmth, and character we hope you’ll feel throughout your time here. The Stockyards offers an authentic glimpse of the American West. More than 3 million people visit each year to experience a dining, shopping and entertainment surrounded by the rich history of cowboys, cowgirls and cattle culture.
Whether you’re sipping a margarita on a rooftop, two-stepping at a honky-tonk, or shopping for your first pair of boots, the Stockyards offer a true taste of Texas. It’s a walkable, vibrant district filled with live music, Western heritage, and plenty of places to gather, unwind, and make memories.
We’ve shared travel guidance and recommended accommodations on our Travel & Stay page—including how to get here and where to book your stay. This page is designed to help you plan the rest—what to eat, where to wander, and how to make the most of your time in Fort Worth.
Whether you’re turning this into a weekend getaway as a couple or bringing the whole family along, the Stockyards offer something for everyone—and we hope you’ll take full advantage.
MUst Sees
Longhorns walk the cobblestones of Exchange Avenue each day at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM—a living nod to the area’s cowboy roots and one of Fort Worth’s most iconic traditions.
Known as the world’s largest honky-tonk. Come for the dancing, stay for the live shows, mechanical bull, and yes—real rodeo. Check the schedule to see what’s happening the weekend of the wedding.
A beautiful stretch of boutiques, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants—all walkable and steeped in Western charm. Hotel Drover is located in Mule Alley.
